Launched in 2013, the Energy Company Obligation is a scheme set by the government, for energy suppliers to provide funding for eco-friendly installations on homes across the UK. This is to help reduce household bills and reach carbon reduction targets as set in the Net Zero Strategy.
ECO4 is the fourth implementation of this scheme and is set to run for 4 years, with £1 Billion of funding provided each year. Since its launch, 3.1 million measures have been installed across 2.3 million homes in England, Scotland and Wales.
In addition to ECO4, there are other government funding schemes available to homeowners and installers. Including the Boiler Upgrade Scheme for example.
